Sardinia, with its crystal clear waters and stunning landscapes, is a photographer’s paradise. In this post, we will explore some of the best locations in Sardinia for taking breathtaking photographs.
La Pelosa Stintino
La Pelosa is one of the most famous and photographed beaches in Sardinia. It’s located in the northwestern tip of the island, near the town of Stintino. The beach is characterized by its fine white sand, turquoise water, and a small island with a tower that creates a picturesque scenery. The best time to take photos here is early in the morning or late in the afternoon, when the light is soft and the crowds are less. You can also get some amazing shots from the nearby cliffs.The location is spectacular, every person I know who has seen this beach has always been amazed, it looks like a Caribbean beach.
Le Saline Stintino.
Le Saline is another beautiful beach near Stintino, famous for its salt pans and flamingos ( only sometimes unfortunately). The contrast between the white salt crystals, , and the blue sea makes for a stunning composition. The best time to take photos here is at sunrise or sunset, when the colors are more vibrant and the reflections are more dramatic
Alghero Maria Pia
Alghero is one of the most charming and historic towns in Sardinia, with a Catalan influence and a lively atmosphere. Maria Pia is one of its best beaches, located just outside the town center. The beach is surrounded by a pine forest and has a long stretch of golden sand and clear water. The best time to take photos here is during the golden hour, when the sun casts a warm glow on the beach and the trees. .
Alghero Porticciolo
Porticciolo is a beautiful cove near Alghero in the Natural Park of Porto Conte. The small sandy beach is surrounded by rocks and a restored 16th-century Spanish tower overlooks the area.
The sea has turquoise and emerald green tones, and the nearby cliffs provide a perfect backdrop for photography.
Access is via a short trail, and there is a small free parking lot available. It’s a great spot for nature lovers and those who prefer an unspoiled landscape.
Capocaccia
is a promontory that overlooks Alghero and offers some spectacular views of the coast and the sea. It’s also home to one of the most impressive natural attractions in Sardinia: Neptune’s Grotto, a cave system that can be reached by boat or by climbing down 656 steps carved into the cliff. The best time to take photos here is at midday, when the sun illuminates the cave and creates amazing effects on the water and the stalactites. You can also take some stunning shots from above, capturing the contrast between the white cliffs and the blue sea.
Alghero Cala Dragonara
Cala Dragonara is one of my favorite beaches in Alghero, located near Capocaccia. It’s a small cove with fine sand and crystal-clear water, surrounded by rocks and vegetation. It’s a perfect spot for snorkeling and swimming, as well as taking photos of nature and wildlife. The best time to take photos here is in
the afternoon, when there are fewer people around and you can enjoy more privacy.
Alghero Lazzaretto
Lazzaretto is another beautiful beach near Alghero, with white sand and clear water. It’s named after an old quarantine station that was built on a small island in front of it. The island adds some interest to the landscape and can be reached by swimming or by boat. The best time to take photos here is at sunset, when you can capture some amazing colors and reflections on the water.
Platamona Sassari
An enormous expanse of light-colored sand that merges into a sea with changing colors ranging from green to blue. The entire coastal strip is about 15 kilometers long with a width ranging from 10 to 30 meters. There are large sand dunes behind it, with a rich Mediterranean vegetation.
